Who Are We?
The Story Behind the Family Owned Local Business
Sushi Garden is actually our third restaurant in Jacksonville, FL. My name is Amy, and my husband (sushi maker) is Ren. We first moved to Florida because of the potential business opportunities and the nice weather in 2008. Thus, our first restaurant, Philip Sushi, located on Philips Highway, was opened. Later, we sold Philip Sushi to my brother in law to open Philip Sushi at Orange Park inc. in hopes of a larger and more profitable business. However, reality did not live up to our hopes. We soon realize that there was not enough business to support such a large sushi restaurant with a high rental rate at the Orange Park location. Therefore, we decided, after a year of unemployment, to open Sushi Garden on Oldfield Crossing Dr. It turns out to be a great success since the Grand Opening on the last day of May of 2017. Even though we had went through some obstacles such as loss business revenue with the damages due to Hurricane Irma shortly after we started Sushi Garden, we had managed to bypass all of them (for now) and reach the success we have today!
