The Story Behind the Family Owned Local Business
Sushi Garden is our third restaurant in Jacksonville, FL, and my husband Ren is the mastermind behind our delicious sushi creations. In 2008, we relocated to Florida in search of promising business prospects and pleasant weather. Our first venture, Philip Sushi, opened its doors on Philips Highway. As we aimed for larger profits, we sold the restaurant to my brother-in-law and launched Philip Sushi at Orange Park inc. However, we soon realized that the restaurant's large size and high rent made it difficult to sustain in the market.
After a year of unemployment, we decided to take a chance and open Sushi Garden on Oldfield Crossing Dr. The Grand Opening in May 2017 was an instant hit, and we were thrilled to see our customers return for more. Despite some setbacks like the loss of business revenue due to Hurricane Irma, we persevered and managed to overcome every obstacle. Today, we are proud of our success and grateful to our patrons for supporting us on this journey.
